Services for Adults
The initial meeting for an evaluation is 75 minutes long. The purpose of the evaluation is to gather information about the current symptoms, past psychiatric history, past and current stressors and other factors that might contribute to the symptoms. At the end of the evaluation, the diagnosis and all treatment options are discussed in detail. In some cases, more than one meeting is needed to ensure thorough evaluation of all factors.
If medications are prescribed after the initial evaluation, follow-up meetings are required to monitor progress. The frequency and the length of the meetings are determined based on the patient's needs, the response to medication and any side effects that occur.
